Generator and transformer sets are heavy, expensive and usually going somewhere awkward: a rooftop pad, a vault, a plant room with one door.

These jobs are typically an outage window with no slack in it, so the crane, the rigging and the transport all get planned as one operation and the sequence is settled before the window opens.
